My approach to therapy is person centered in the beginning and then I use a more integrative approach depending on the person’s needs, context, challenge, and desired outcome for therapy. I like to understand my client’s history, values and belief system, family origin, goals in life, and struggles they may have within themselves or in relationships with others. I like to integrate family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, existential therapy, and solution focused therapy.
We can all have challenges in life where we get “stuck” and perhaps overwhelmed depending on the situation and context we are facing. Our perceptions about ourselves and internal dialogues can aHect the way we perceive and navigate life with ourselves and with others. It is my hope that in our sessions, my clients will gain insight into themselves, others, heal, overcome challenges, and move forward to obtain the coping skills or tools to become the person they want to be with intention and meaning.

I have worked with clients in various demographics, ages and stages in life. I work with clients that are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life changes and transitions and career changes. I have also worked with clients that have a dual diagnosis or personality disorder.
I have experience in working with adolescents and adults in various settings in education, special education, high acuity treatment centers, residential treatment centers, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient. I have also worked in hospice grief counseling helping clients process grief or anticipated grief of a loved one, spousal loss, and caregiving for a loved one that is terminally ill.
I am a firm believer that we can overcome challenges and grow in life. I also believe that we have the power of choice and can rewrite our stories with intent. Insight into ourselves and understanding the journey we have had in life with acceptance, can make us stronger.
